Brand Profiles

Duck And Cover

Since Duck And Coverbirth in 1996 they have worked to deliver a fashion brand that stands apart from the urban uniform. The inspiration from their name came from a 1950’s government information film advising people of what to do in the event of a nuclear attack....(Duck And Cover) There first range was casual with a sporty influence and by 1999 the collection had evolved into a distinctive denim collection. But there essential philosophy has remained. With an unflinching attention to detail, Duck And Cover trend led approach and touches that are uniquely their own, the Duck And Cover ethos ensures that your individuality never needs to be compromised.

Ben Sherman

Ben Shermandominates the men's branded apparel market being the 4th largest casual wear brand in the UK. The company has grown from a fledgling shirt manufacturer to a worldwide men's fashion brand and has introduced womenswear, youthwear, childrenswear and shoes-british soles. This phenomenal company's product offer is enhanced by belts, bags, sunglasses, underwear and leatherwear produced under license by top specialists. Ben Sherman'smarketing strategy, playing on the heritage of the brand, makes it the new cool apparel company. Super groups such as Brit-pop Blur and Oasis, as well as MTV host Carson Daly, Fatboy Slim, Superstar Moby, Bare Naked Ladies, Incubus and many other musicians and celebrities are avid Ben Shermanfollowers. Ben Sherman began making shirts in the 50's from a small factory in Brighton, England, employing only 10 people. In 1963 the company took on the name of its founder and began the first production run of the infamous button-down collared shirt. Mr. Sherman opened his first retail outlet next to the factory in the same year and the "Ben Sherman cult" was born. The shirts were adopted by the youth movements of the day, none more so than the scooter-riding mods. Aspiring to a smart tailored look influenced by sharp, modern Italian tailoring, the brand became a trademark of their style. Soon after, a Ben Sherman Original shirtbecame the "in" shirt; it had become a status symbol. In the late sixties and early seventies the youth culture made Ben Sherman a part of their essential uniform to be worn with Levi's and a pair of Doc Martens. Without "the shirt" one was considered a second rate Mod, but with a Ben Sherman one had instant "cool" appeal. Ben Sherman was also the first to introduce skateboards to the UK in the mid 60's. Music groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Police, The Kinks and many others were outfitted in Ben Sherman. Ben Sherman eventually left the company that he founded in the UK in the early 70's. He moved to Australia and launched the brand there with great success. In the 1980's and 1990's Ben Sherman continued its success to its current status today. The phenomenal success of the Ben Sherman brand within its home market is being repeated throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. Driven from its Times Square Showroom in New York, Ben Sherman is rapidly becoming the must-have brand for leading stores throughout the United States. Today, Ben Sherman is challenging the traditional American menswear giants. Significant export potential has become evident by key buyers seeking to be the first to introduce Ben Sherman to their markets throughout the world. A far cry from its modest beginnings, Ben Sherman is now established as a world-class lifestyle brand. A true British success story!

Projekts NYC

Welcome to life in 'The Projekts' - Harlem, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn. Afroman, 'the coolest guy in Brooklyn' cruises about in his spotless low rider, patrolling the streets of The Projekts overlooking New York City. It is rumoured that he has the strongest underground links with 'The Bossman'. An unrivalled street credibility belongs to one man who is often heard of but never seen. The people of The Projekts are tormented by the myth of one character known only as 'The Bossman'. A group of people who were influenced by a visit to The Projekts decided that they were going to set up a label, which they called simply 'Projekts NYC'. The label was established in 2004 with an initial headwear collection that launched in summer 2004, followed shortly by a clothing collection in autumn 2004. Projekts NYCis becoming one of the UK's fastest growing street clothing brands thanks to an ever increasing popularity from British celebrity ‘A' listers, Katie Price (Jordan) & Peter Andre, Leilani, Jennifer Ellison and high profile ‘Premiership' footballers, Jermain Defoe and Ashley Cole. The label's trademark ‘Bossman' emblem and street culture vibe based on The Projekts - Harlem, Bronx, Queens & Brooklyn, can be seen on headwear garments such as caps, trucker hats, 59Fifty's and knitted beanies and clothing garments such as t-shirts, hoodies, polo shirts, jackets, pants and sweats with more ranges to follow in the upcoming future. The current brand ranges are a sellout with all the popular designer & street clothing retail and internet stores. Projekts NYC is more than just a brand. It's about the life's of generations that have lived in ‘The Projekts', where street culture means everything. More importantly it represents and expresses a lifestyle which started in the streets of Harlem, Bronx, Queens & Brooklyn and quickly spread across the major cities of the world.

Fenchurch

Genesis – in 2000 a few kids meet up to skate, they become great friends and a beautiful story begins. The result of many late-night sessions the idea to create their own brand is born. They already made their own clothes so they decided to take it to the next step and make clothes for people like them, who searched for a style they could identify with. They decide to call their brand Fenchurch after a part of London where they used to skate. Their friends at New Deal Skates shared their vision and provide the backing they needed to get started. The Fenchurch logo is created by their friends at Slingshot. They buy their first industrial sewing machine and teach themselves pattern cutting, grading and formal tailoring in an effort to really understand how clothes are made. They then make their first prototypes and after 10 years Fenchurch are still making clothes that fit into the current market still with the individuality they set out to achive.
